An Ely State Prison inmate killed himself Thursday in a barricaded cell.
According to White Pine County Sheriff Dan Watts, the deputy coroner was sent to the Smith Valley prison after Timothy Lee Redman hung himself.
Redman, 45, had barricaded his cell, jamming the sliding door and refusing to remove the obstacle.
Watts said prison maintenance staff was needed to remove the door before the deputy coroner could examine the body.
Before hanging himself with his shoelaces, Redman had brandished a prison-made weapon – some type of metal rod with a handmade handle.
Redman originally was sentenced to 15 years in Clark County for armed robbery. He later was sentenced to additional 20-year terms for two counts of battery by a prisoner in custody.
Watts said the investigation is ongoing.

**MTWT will be expaning on this article along with many others, because there are still a great amount not being told to the public. The WHOLE truth needs to come out. No one is speaking about the amount of pepper spray used on this man** (As we knew would happen the NDOC is only giving the very basics to make it look as they had not fault in what happened to Mr. Redman.)
